Vegan

Under the Sky is strictly vegan

Both our home (thanks to my daughters) and our business are vegan.  No meat or dairy.

But Under the Sky is not only vegan – our food is homemade, fresh, carefully planned, and kosher.

  • Homemade sourdough bread from wholegrain spelt for the first days of the trip (and the best pre-sliced bread we can get in the area in which we are hiking for later on).
  • Zucchini-cashew spread.
  • Homemade pesto.
  • Homemade chocolate chip cookies for the first days of the trip.
  • Almond spread, sugar-free jam, peanut butter, halva and sometimes even chocketa vegan chocolate spread and lotus spread (for those who favor junk food).
  • Various potjiekos dishes:
Beginning with red curry with coconut sauce, to couscous vegetable soup, and even including the chef’s choice (when Ofer, my husband, joins the trip to take care of the logistics, he also cooks).
  • Beer and red or white wine at dinner.
  • Each meal includes a salad with tahini, fresh spreads that were either homemade prior to the trip or prepared in the campfire the previous evening.
  • Dried fruit and seasonal fruit for snacks
  • In the morning: rolled oats porridge with different toppings (coconut flakes, date honey, sunflower seeds and cinnamon), bread and spreads.
Moka-pot coffee, black coffee and herbal tea

If you have any special requests or restrictions such as a gluten sensitivity, please inform me and I’ll prepare for this in advance.
